The Heart Behind Aquanauts
It started with a memory: riding on my dad's shoulders, gliding underwater like a space shuttle ride beneath the surface. Safe, free, and inspired.
In October 2023, my father passed away from stage 4 cancer. I left university to care for my younger siblings, and I made a choice: to turn my lifelong love of swimming into something meaningful, not just for me, but for families across Vancouver Island.
What began as a few private lessons has grown into a community program that has served hundreds of families. To me, Aquanauts is a legacy. It is a way to honor my dad, who first put me in the water.
